Full Size Spare Conversion Parts Installed

I finally got around to ordering the full size spare conversion parts mentioned last time. Overall I'm happy with the parts, though the fabric / rubber trunk liner does not sit perfectly down the (now sloped) sides of the new trunk floor. That may correct itself over time, but even if it doesn't, the most important thing is that the floor meets and is supported by the body structure, particularly in the vicinity of the battery & the battery cover fasteners.

Like my tech, I'll likely fill the new-found storage cavity inside of the spare wheel with some essential components for any road-going vehicle such as a portable air pump, a pair of tight-fitting gloves (Mechanix or equivalent), and a set of small wheel chocks, as only crazy people with a death wish would use the factory jack on this car without the wheels secured. The fit of the insert isn't perfect because it's designed for a 17" wheel but it's big enough that there is no risk of it falling down inside the wheel. As you can see I was able to insert metal retainer and tighten down the wingnut to secure the spare so that's mission accomplished.
